An Edward Vom Hofe Model 423 Restigouche Salmon fly reel in good overall condition. Size 4/0 - 3 7/8" diameter. RHW. This reel carries the '02 patent date on the sliding oil cap. German silver safety bands and a pair of roller bars. The frame is in excellent condition. The hard rubber sideplates have turned slightly brownish, as is typical over time, though they are free of issues. All but two screw heads have some discoloration which may be corrosion, though it's possible that a good cleaning of each might remove it, I just can't tell for sure. The reel has a strong adjustable drag and click and a seven detent pointer drag with all but two of the bright red dot indicators nice and visible. Single action retrieve. The reel foot is full length and the foot crossbar has "423" and "4/0" on it as well as the serial number C272. Comes in a nice leather block case.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
