For sale here is a San Francisco era Winston - 8'9" 6wt 2/2 bamboo rod. Serial no. 9353/9343 made by Doug Merrick. Listed weight of 4 3/4 oz. The rod is in excellent overall condition. Both sections are full length though the tip has a very slight set. All of the wraps and other components are completely original having only received a light varnish overcoat. The serial numbers on the two sections do not match as they are off by ten. It could have been a mistake made at the factory. Blonde, honey-toned cane. Handsome, beige colored wraps with maroon tipping at the winding check, signature wrap, ferrules, and tip-tops. Double wrapping at guides and wraps extending up to the welt on the ferrules, typical of Winston rods. Bright guides. Original owner's name is written on the butt along with usual rod information. Bronzed, ring hook-keeper. Bakelite winding check. Full wells grip with moderate soiling and very light ridging around the top edge of the grip. Bright aluminum down-locking reel seat with classic Winston bakelite spacer/body. The ferrules are size 15/64, the fit is excellent. Actual weight is 4.85 oz. Medium-fast action. The rod would make for an excellent big trout rod or a great boat rod throwing streamers or big dry-flies. DT6/WF7 works best. Includes replacement bag and original tube with label 85% remaining. - We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
