A very nice Tom Moran "La Contessa" limited edition fly rod, 7'3", 2-piece, 2-tip and built for a #5 (though I personally might like it slightly better with a #4). Serial #875/1. #1 of the limited edition. 3.4 ounces. Used but well cared for condition. No casting crack to the ferrule wraps but the grip is well tanned and there is a little bit of corner brassing to the oxidation of the cap. Tom was one of my favorite contemporary makers. This rod features medium dark flamed cane with hand pressed three up nodes. Swelled butt. Impeccable varnish. Clean main wraps with tan edges of black at the keeper and ferrules and one turn of red and five turns of clear at the main wraps. Brown at the ferrules. Carbide stripper and high arch snake guides. The ferrules are slightly truncated swiss-style and are oxidized. The grip is 5 3/4" long and done in a blunt cigar profile. The cap and ring seat is done over a dark stained tiger maple spacer. The cap and ring are oxidized and the cap is stamped "T Moran, Maker" in cartouche. Gray cloth bag fits in an aluminum tube sheathed in leather with a plaque stating "La Contessa, a limited edition rod by Tom Moran". It also comes with a protective overbag. Very nice little rod here.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
