We offer a number of reel seat and real seat hardware options. For wooden spacers we offer premium Cherry Root Burl, Bird’s Eye Maple, and, when available, Koa, which comes from the Hawaiian Islands. The wood for these seats is carefully selected, turned down on our lathe, sanded and mortised, then alternately sanded and dipped until it reaches a fine gloss. As an additional option we also offer premium nickel-silver inlay half-rails which are carefully cut and fitted to lift the slideband off the seat and preserve the wood and varnish.
For non-wood options, we offer our antique Leonard-style seat which is drawn from nickel-silver tubing and fitted with a nickel-silver pocket cap and ring.
Our reel seat hardware also comes in several options: standard sliding band, up-sliding band, and both up-locking and down-locking screw seats. The gallery at the right is a representative, but not exhaustive, list of possible configurations. The cartouche on each seat is stamped either “Aroner Maker” or “The Spinoza Rod: Spinoza Rod Company Makers” depending on the model.
