Junior mentioned below that I went to the Marlborough show, and I’m happy to report that it was a pretty good time. Even in a down economy I thought turn-out was pretty solid. These days I tend to go to these things less for business and more just to catch up with a lot of old friends and acquaintances, many of whom I really don’t get to see as often as I’d like. Among the highlights for me this weekend was getting to catch up with Stan Bogdan, who I hadn’t seen in ages, and who still seems remarkably vigorous in his early nineties. We should all be so lucky!
In the meanwhile things are pretty hectic here at the shop and I’m working hard to put the finishing touches on a few rods before the Somerset, NJ show next weekend which I’ll also be heading down to. January/February is sort of crunch-time for me — us rodmakers have to get a lot done in the dead of winter if we want to be able to actually get out and fish at all during the rest of the year!
