A Bill Blackburn hollowbuilt bamboo fly rod, 7'9", 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 line. Serial #2616. The rod weighs 3.7 ounces on my scale. Serial #2616. Mint condition. Medium slow action and the rod flexes down into the grip. Light blonde cane done in a two opposed node pattern in a LH spiral. The main wraps are tan with small black edges at the keeper and ferrules. The step ferrules are oxidized jet black. The rod has a light coat of varnish with a bit of amberizing in the middle of the strip. The stripping guide is black and the large snake guides are snakes. The grip is 6" long and shaped to a blunt cigar. The cap and ring seat are oxidized and the mortised spacer is a piece of stabilized spalted maple burl. The rod packs into a brown cloth bag and the rod tube tube is black crackle painted with brass fittings.
