An FE Thomas Special bamboo fly rod, 13', 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for what I suspect is a #8 or #9. 18.2 ounces. Full flexing action. Very modest use with some grip soiling and a hint of brassing to the inner guides. Very good original condition with the exception of some cork erosion at the bottom of the lower grip and a few and a few salmon scales attached to the varnish (no extra charge for these). The main wraps are color preserved red with black edges. 3/3/3 signatures of red, black, red, and red intermediates. Agate stripper and bronze reverse twist snake guides. The ferrule fits are great and the rod is factory straight. The front grip is 9 1/2" long and is a heavy cigar and the bottom grip, including the rubber button, is 7 3/4" long. The all nickel silver reel seat is a downlock with a soldered pocket cap with a buttress style thread but into the locking bar. The patent date on the seat reads "June 1913" and at the bottom of the seat "FE Thomas, Special, Bangor ME" in a cartouche. The rod packs into a canvas bag for the butt and mid and an aluminum tip tube with a chrome plated brass collar and top.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
