A very nice Jim Hidy bamboo fly rod, 7'6", 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 line. Serial "L198H-3". The rod weighs 3.2 ounces on my scale. The rod appears mint or perhaps lawn cast a time or two. There are no cracks at the ferrule wraps, no hand soiling, etc. The action is a medium semi-parabolic. Light wheatstraw color cane. Small three-up nodes pattern. The main wraps are transparent with tiny black edges and brown at the ferrules. The stripping guide is carbide and the snake brand light wire and oversized snakes are black nickel. The ferrules are truncated swiss style oxidized to a gunmetal color. The grip is 6 1/4" long and turned to a full wells weighted to the front. The nickel silver slide band reel seat is quilted maple with a light coat of sealer. The rear cork check, ring and butt cap are oxidized gray. The rod packs into a white cloth bag and an Arnie Mason leather rod tube.
