A Bob Summers model 275 bamboo fly rod, 7'6", 2-piece, 2-tips, and built for a #4 line. Serial #122690. The rod weighs 3.7 ounces on my scale. The original owner's name is inked on the rod along with Bob's name and the length and line designation. Nice medium action. Used original condition with moderate soiling to the grip and one tip has some minor scuffs to the varnish in one place with some light cosmetic wear throughout. No major issues however and the rod is nice and straight. Dark flamed cane, slightly lighter at the nodes, which are arranged in a two-opposed pattern. Caramel colored wraps with black tipping throughout. Small wire keeper, carbide stripper, with bronze guides and chrome tip tops. The step ferrules retain almost all of their oxidation. The grip is 6" long and shaped to a blunt cigar profile. Aluminum ring and nickel silver cap hardware over a mortised walnut spacer. The spacer has a few impressions from the ring and reel feet, and the hardware has a little bit of tarnish to it. The cap has Bob's stamp on it and while there is a slight gap between the edge of the cap and the spacer, the cap is firmly in place. The rod packs into a warm khaki colored poplin bag with Bob's aluminum and cork ferrule plug tied to the top, and an aluminum tube with brass hardware with "RW Summers Co / Traverse City, MI USA" stamped around the edge of the top.
