An Anderson and Sons brass salmon reel, 4 1/2" diameter and set up for RHW. All brass construction which weighs in at 26.5 ounces. Large black ebonite handle, straight brass foot, and a two screw locking face plate. Fixed click drag. The makers info is engraved in the front plate unlike most of the stamped version of this reel that I've seen. The reel packs into an interesting leather box that has failed stitching on the seam on the top half and no strap to snap it closed, but inside it also has an internal spring and pad designed to hold the reel inside in place (My suspicion is that it's original given how well the reel fits inside, and a little repairwork would bring it back to usable shape). A fine example of a hefty early salmon reel.
