All of the geometry is consistent with the correct left hand wind, however, there is no retention screw provision in the spindle back plate. I have no explanation for this, though it is probably the reason why the drag is set up on the \"light\" side. I suppose this makes the reel the Hardy equivalent of the 1924 \"inverted Jenny\" stamp!
