An HL Leonard Special Tournament model bamboo fly rod, 9'6", 3-piece, 2-tip and built for what feels to me like a #9 line. This salmon rod weighs 8.1 ounces on my scale. Used but good condition overall. Medium fast action. Very light wear to the inner snake guides. The rod looks to be in original condition based on the wraps and varnish. Someone has tidied up the metalwork and the tube by removing any patina. Blonde cane done in a three up node pattern. Red wraps with a small (silk line) stripper and HSS snake guides. No patent date on the female ferrules. The grip is 6" long and sculpted to a full wells profile. The all nickel silver downlocking seat is 4" long with a pocket cap and detachable plug for the fighting butt. The die stamp on the pocket cap reads "The Leonard Rod, HL Leonard Rod Co, Makers" in a cartouche and "Reg US Pat Off". Stamped above it on the tube is "Special Tournament". The fighting butt is 4 1/2" long with a large red rubber button and stores in a separate cloth pouch attached to the gray cloth bag. It packs into an older style aluminum tube with brass fixtures.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
