A Paul Young Perfectionist fly rod, 7'6", 2-pieces, 3-tips (1 tip is short). Serial #4264. Moderately fast DF action that should cast a #4 or #5 very nicely. Good condition but not original. The grip has been altered from the original half wells to a western style with a hidden pocket cap and an up-sliding ring over cork. Two of the tips are full length but lack the serial number on the short tip. I would assume they are replacements. The serial number indicates a 1966 manufacture date, 6 years after the passing of Paul young. The bamboo is flamed with occasional dark patches. The nodes are a 2 opposed pattern. The wraps are very light brown. The ferrules are swiss-style and oxidized. I cannot see any evidence of the "Super Z" stamp on the female. The serial number 4264 is lettered on the wrap flat just below the stripping guide. " Perfectionist 3oz. 7'6" " lettered one flat left. "A Paul H Young Co rod" is lettered opposite the wrap flat. Comes in the original bag and tube. This rod would give you the opportunity to fish a much-revered perfectionist model without risking your precious original.
