An excellent RL Winston San Francisco era fly rod, 8'9", 2-piece, 2-tips, weighing 4 3/8 ounces. A nice medium action which feels to me like it should cast a #7 nicely. Serial #9090, which should put the date of manufacture in the early 1960's. 99% mint having been lawn cast or at most carefully fished a time or two. The original owner's name was written on the rod at the factory. Light tan oven tempered cane done in a three-up node pattern. Wrapped in tan with maroon edges. Carbide stripper and the next three guides are bridge guides. Stainless steel snake guides and chrome tip-tops. Serial # lettered on the tips. 6" full wells grip (the finish turning on the grip leaves something to be desired). The reel seat is a downlocking screwlock over bakelite, with polished aluminum hardware. The rod comes in a red cloth bag with the Winston logo. The rod tube has about 75% of the original Winston sticker.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
