All ferrules appear to be clicking
For sale here is a rather early Chubb 8'6" 3/2 5-6wt bamboo rod with the original circular for fit case and bag. The rod appears to be original in excellent condition considering its age. All sections are full length and straight save a slight set in one of the tips. The rod features red wraps with black tipping, full intermediates alternating red and black. A few of the wraps are a bit dry and brittle. Bronzed reverse-twist English-style guides made to accommodate a silk line as they are very small. The elegant swelled butt features dark hardwood inlaid between the splines of bamboo; a look that was quite popular during the early 1900s. Bright aluminum winding check. The grip is made of rolled cork, it is in excellent original condition with only light to moderate soiling. The aluminum down-locking cap and ring reel seat is a bit tarnished though otherwise void of any defect. The ferrules are size 10/64 and 16/64 with a great fit and feature indented witness marks. The rod weighs 4 3/4 oz. the action is a lovely and very smooth medium-fast for a five-weight line. Much quicker than one would expect from a rod of this age. A fine example of a dry-fly rod from the period.
