For sale here is a Holbrook "Spinner" 7'6" 2/1 bamboo spinning rod. Made in 1950. The rod is in excellent condition with some light honest wear. All sections are full length with light sets in both. Dawn Holbrook built bamboo rods in the Seattle area from the 1940's to as late as the and 1970's. His work was largely influenced by E.C. Powell.
The cane is a rich pumpkin color with copper wraps and chestnut tipping. The script remains clean and bold and includes the original owner's name and date along with the rod name. The 13 1/2" grip is moderately soiled but free of any other defect. Dual black anodized ring reel seat with an aluminum butt cap. The ferrules are size 18/64 with a great fit. The rod weighs is 6.30 oz. The action is classic spinning, quick and powerful to sling out even the lightest lures. Includes original bag and tube.
