For sale here is an impregnated Phillipson Peerless "5" Dry Fly Special - 8'6" 3/2 for a 6wt line. The rod is in excellent original condition. All sections are full length with no repairs and none needed. The impregnated cane is tempered to a medium-dark. Deep bronze (henna brown) colored wraps with yellow spiral tipping. Bright guides. The script on the swelled butt remains clean and bold. U-shaped hook-keeper. Bronze colored, aluminum nose cone characteristic to Phillipson rods of this era. Ritz-style grip is soiled and very slightly ridged in places. It is otherwise free of defects. Bronze colored, aluminum down-locking reel seat. The buttcap is a bit scuffed. Excellent ferrule fit. The rod weighs 5 1/4 oz. The action is fast and with plenty of backbone, yet the tips are delicate enough to present small dries very effectively. A well suited rod for western rivers where wind, casting large bushy flies, and large trout are common. The rod also does quite well chucking streamers. Includes original bag and gold tube with label. The "Dry Fly Special" has garnered a following over the years known for its speed of action and durability.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
