Aroner Hunt Pattern Fly Rod 7'6" 3/2 #5

Aroner 7 1/2' #5 Hunt Pattern, 3pc, 2T  Fast D.F. Action.  A very lightly used condition rod.  Almost no visible hand soiling, a faint mark on the reel seat varnish and a tiny amount of interior brassing to the inside of the guides are the only sign of use. There is no flex cracking at the ferrules. Flamed cane in three up node pattern. The nodes are hand pressed to a very small size. The tips are mirrored.  The black high speed steel snake guides are wrapped in may rose silk and edged in orange, plus an extra band of dark red at the keeper. The stripping guide is an antique perfection. The swiss style ferrules are oxidized and the males have a collar with a recessed slant knurl and two trim marks. The varnish is flawless Cosmo Spar the same varnish as was used by Sam Carlson and currently by Dana Grey. The grip is 5 1/2" 11 corks long and shaped to a medium cigar. The reel seat is a mortised, varnished, burl walnut and the cap and ring and rear cork check are oxidized. The nickel silver cap is stamped "Aroner, Maker". A late 1990's or early 2000 manufacture date. The rod comes with the older style all brass ferrule plugs, a tan poplin bag and a polished aluminum tube with brass bottom, collar, and top.
