A very nice Everett Garrison model 212 bamboo fly rod, 8', 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for what feels like a #5 line. Serial "E-8-20" which dates the rod to 1935. Very nice medium to medium-fast action. Refinished, with moderate use since. There are some cosmetic casting cracks to the ferrule wraps. The grip has been cleaned leaving it a touch rough. There is a wee bit of brassing to the inner snake guides. Wheatstraw color cane with the spiral nodes. Wrapped brown at the keeper and ferrules with very light yellow tan main wraps. Perfection stripper and H.S.S. high arch snakes. The oxidized step ferrules fit well. The grip is 6" long and styled to a heavy cigar. The downlock screw lock is polished with a nickel silver pocket cap and aluminum button for the bottom held in place by a screw. The varnished wood spacer is either quarter-sawn mahogany or Spanish Cedar. The rod comes with a tan cloth bag (not original?) and the aluminum tube with brass fixtures and aluminum top (the tube has taken some dents but it has done its job and protected the rod). Garrisons are exceedingly tough to find, and this one would be a terrific fishing companion for a new owner.
