A Gary Howells bamboo fly rod, 7'6", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 line. Serial #4637. The rod weighs 3.1 ounces on my scale. Used but in excellent condition with no defects. The action is a bit on the slower side of medium. Oven tempered cane with slightly darker nodes arranged in a three up pattern. The main wraps are brown with yellow edges and one band of red at the keeper. The stripping guide is a #8 SRMC carbide and the snake guides and tip tops are chrome. The varnish is in perfect condition except for one tiny chip just above the keeper wrap. The grip is 5 1/2" long and styled to a Western profile, with a little bit of modest hand soiling. The seat is flatted all cork with an aluminum ring and pocket cap with a black plastic bottom cap. The rod comes with the original maroon Howells bag and the aluminum case with the Howells data sticker. The rod is also accompanied by a letter from Gary to the customer.
