Orvis Salmon Fly Rod 11'6" 3/2 #10

263

A rare Orvis two-handed salmon rod, 11'6" 3-piece 2-tip rod listed for a "F2AE" line (which, in terms of grain weight was approximately the equivalent of a #10 at the time - as always with spey rods, you will likely want to try a few different lines to get it dialed in). Serial #24654 lettered on the shafts, indicating a likely manufacture date of 1958. Impregnated bamboo in 3-up node pattern construction. Medium-slow action. Listed at 10.5 ounces. Cork grip (8" foregrip, 6" bottom) with soiling. Aluminum screwlocking reel seat and bottom rubber button. This rod has been fished and is in fair condition with a few issues: notably, the top guide on the butt section is loose and needs re-wrapping and the wraps at the ferrules have been overwrapped with some resulting alligatoring. Comes in green cloth bag with aluminum Abercrombie and Fitch tube. A nice chance to make a small fix and enjoy fishing this with a nice mid or long belly line.
