For sale here is an early Restigouche salmon fly reel made by Edward Vom Hofe. Size 6/0. No serial number. The reel is in very good condition with two cracks in the hard rubber, one by the foot screws on both sideplates. This reel carries the Sep 2, 1879 patent on the drag adjustment knob under the handle arm, as well as the Jan 23, 1883 patent mark for the sliding click drag. German silver safety bands and one double roller bar in the rings-up position. The spool is also German silver and spins in the same direction as the handle. The reel has a strong drag to this day and fully functional. Full-length and unfiled n/s foot with a 6/0 stamp. Comes with a Vom Hofe stamped leather case in poor condition.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.
