For sale here is a wonderful E.W. Edwards "Mt. Carmel" 8'6 3/2 bamboo rod for a 5 or 6 weight line. Post 1926 Mt. Carmel era rod. The rod is in excellent overall condition. All sections are full length and straight. Black and bronze jasper silks. Five bands at the winding check. Oxidized guides. Red agate stripper. The tip-tops are of the older circular style as opposed to the teardrop perfection style. The characteristic white lettering, turned yellow by age remains clean and bold, and more than likely penned by Eustis Edwards. Bronzed ring hook-keeper. Sculpted bakelite winding check. Cigar grip 5 1/4" in length. The grip is lightly soiled and very lightly ridged. There is also filler in the natural voids throughout the grip. Bright nickel silver cap and ring reel seat with a beautiful wood spacer. The ferrules are size 15/64 and 9/64, the fit is good. The action is a very smooth medium-fast with delicate tips. Balances quite well in the hand. The rod weighs 4.45 oz. Includes original bag which retains the "Edwards Fishing Rods" stamp, and the original tube with the label 85% intact.
