A nice Edwards Quadrate fly rod, 8', 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #6. Brisk dry fly action. #43. 4.7 ounces. Good condition, original, straight, and with tight ferrules. The wraps appear original but with a few small chips in the varnish of the butt. The tips are fine. The main wraps are brown with yellow and black edges fore and aft at the keeper, ferrules, and tip-tops. Flamed cane with very good varnish with the exception of the chips in the butt. Agate stripper with high arch snake guides. The step ferrules are oxidized with 100% of the original oxidation. The grip is 6" long, squared at the front to the 1/2" long grip check and done in a western profile. A hidden pocket cap of Bakelite adds 1/2" to the heel of the grip. The reel seat is a flatted polished form of narrow bands of plywood with the threads for the uplock nut cut directly into it. A small black knob of bakelite or tenite holds the nut on, which is of the same material. The brown poplin bag has a neat "Edwards Quadrate" logo printed on it. The original aluminum tube has a brass collar and aluminum top and Edwards data sticker which is about 50% intact on the tube.
