FE Thomas 11' "Special" Bamboo Rod 11' 3/1 #8/9

VFT3913

For sale here is a FE Thomas Special bamboo rod -- 11 feet in length. Two-handed rod. Three sections with one tip. The rod is in excellent plus restored condition (Jim Schaaf performed the restoration). The rod has a slow, smooth action. The previous owner fished with a long bellied DT8 though this seems a bit light to me. All sections are full length and straight. There is a clear protective lift wrap 1/3 of the way up on a mid section. Chestnut brown silks with emerald green tipping at the winding check/hook keeper and male ferrules. Rich honey colored cane. The spey grip and down-locking nickel silver reel seat are both in excellent condition. The reel seat has a unique nickel silver locking mechanism. The white rubber fighting butt shows some age but is in great shape. The rod comes in original FE Thomas heavy canvas rod bag with a tip tube and bag for the tip. The ferrules are 23/64 and 16/64. Weight is 15.25 oz.
