A George Guba Quad Bamboo Fly Rod, 8', 3-piece, 2-tip, built for a #5 line. 4.4 ounces. Mint or near mint condition. Medium to medium-slow action. The rod shaft is inscribed "Quad. H.B. 8' 5W, by Guba". Flamed cane in a four strip construction and a spiral node pattern. Red color preserved wraps with a small band of yellow. Agate stripper with bronze snake guides. Decent varnish with some dust and fiber particles. Bright ferrules. The grip is 6" long in a western style with a 1/2" delrin front check tapered to the cane. The check has a split. The reel seat is an uplocking aluminum screwlock closely resembling the late model Leonard screwlocks (without the logo stamp). The seat spacer wood is an excellent varnished koa piece. Khaki colored rod bag with a leather heavy tag and a frost anodized aluminum tube with a brass top and bottom.
