A Gus Nevros Penta fly rod, 6'5", 2-piece, 3-tip, and built for a #3 line. 2.6 ounces. Delicate full flexing action. Near mint condition with a tiny amount of brassing to the inner guides being the only sign of use I could find. 5 strip pentagonal construction. Wrapped brown with orange and black edges fore and aft as well as a light scheme of intermediates. Artificial stripper and black snake guides. The rod is dated April of 1982, signed by Gus, and with the customer's name on it. The swiss ferrules are oxidized. Typical of Gus' careful craftsmanship the front of the grip is a varnished 34" walnut cork check, perfectly mated to the 5" long medium cigar. The 1 3/4" reel seat is mated to a 2" long walnut spacer with a knob to retain the nickel silver oxidized pocket cap. Both wood pieces have the grain aligned with each other and with the wrap flat. An oxidized slide ban completes the reel seat. As stated, the rod comes with three tips, however one tip has a slash mark in the cane that cuts into the power fibers and I suspect that this tip was a "throw in". The rod packs in a dark brown fitted cloth bag with a stiffener. There is also a pocket offered for holding two nonslip pads for pulling the rod apart. Nice touch! Rodon brushed aluminum and brass topped tube obtained by Gus in a trade for the Leonard Schaublin lathe with Ron Beasley, the owner of Rodon. An ornately turned walnut ferrule plugs is included with the rod.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
