For sale here is a Hardy Bros. Palakona 9'6" 3/2 bamboo rod. The rod has seen better days and is an excellent candidate for a complete restoration. The serial number C11738 dates this rod to 1921. The cork and reel seat remain in very good condition and would not need to be replaced. There is some slight delamination on the butt section near the cork. There is a guide missing on the mid section. The two tips are both in need of repair. The first tip is 1 3/4" short and the second tip has been broken off at the ferrule, and at some point the ferrule portion was lost leaving the tip only. Both of the red agate tip-tops remain. Red agate stripping guide. Brass ferrules fit together nicely and pop when pulled apart. Reverse English guides. Sliding band reel seat over cork. A classic medium wet fly action for a 5 or 6wt line. Ferrule sizes 17/64 and 11/64. Rod weighs 4.85 oz. The rod comes with original rod bag, original rod tube made of a hollowed culm of bamboo as well as the Hardy cover with label.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
