A rare and unique Hardy Perfect 1912 check fly reel, 3 1/2" diameter, set up for the typical right-hand wind. Unusually this reel has straight pillars, a feature of earlier reels which I've never personally seen on any other 1912 models and have heard of only a few. Curiously the stamp on the inside of the winding plate is "GT" (Gordon Talbot) whose tenure dates to 1929–1939 (according to John Drewett's reference) well into the period during which Hardy was using its venerable MK II check. The reel appears to be all original and untampered with, including having matching parts stamps on the interior of the frame, spool, and winding plate. Other than the leading having been removed and a little chewing to the spool screw the reel is in superb shape. There are no cracks, chips, or line burns of any sort and the spool is nice and tight. The 1912 check is nice and smooth in both directions and the tension adjuster works as it should. Ivorine handle and a smooth brass foot that measures approximately 3 1/4" in length. No bag or pouch. These 1912's don't come along often and this is a rare one.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

Other Terms
- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
