A very nice and rare early Hardy Uniqua fly reel, 3" in diameter and set up for the typical RHW. This is one of the early pre-1912 Uniquas that has the straight pillars and caliper check (a similar example is pictured in John Drewett's masterful book on Hardy reels). Superb overall condition with the leaded finish nicely intact and no major issues to note. One end of the long brass foot has a very subtle and gradual bend to it, you'd miss it unless you look very carefully. "H" stamped into the base of the brass foot. Horseshoe latch and ivorine handle. "Hardy's Patent 'Uniqua' Reel" is stamped into the spool. No bag. Overall a very fine example of an early Uniqua.
