HL Leonard Fly Rods

Started by the godfather of the bamboo fly rod - Hiram Leonard - in the mid 19th century, the Leonard Rod Company would become the most recognizable rod company in history. The company was largely responsible for the development of the modern fly rod, and many other prominent rodmakers worked or got their start in the Leonard shop. The company went through many phases before it folded in the early 1980's (the name was later resuscitated) but at its high points the company turned out some of the best rods in the business.
