A Homer Jennings bamboo fly rod, 8', 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 or #5 line. Serial #457. The rod weighs 4 ounces. Moderately full flexing action but quick enough to put into the dry fly category. Condition is one of modest use, some early cracks from casting and very minor downward set (almost unnoticeable and not enough to warrant straightening) to both tips. The grip may have been cleaned chemically at some point. Light tan color cane with small three-up nodes. Main wraps very light yellow, transparent main wraps with brown edges and brown at the ferrules. The stripper is an agate and the tip tops + snakes are chrome. The swiss style ferrules are polished bright. The rod has a superbly done pane of glass varnish coat. The grip is a 6" long western with a slide band and cap seat. They are polished. The wood spacer is varnished myrtle burl. The rod has a female plug of bamboo and cork to keep the ferrules clean. The rod bag is grey color poplin with a stiffener. The aluminum tube is painted a matte grey and has brass fixtures.
