An excellent Jennings & Moran fly rod, 7', 2-piece, 2-tip, built for a #4/5 line. Serial #8453. Medium action. Very good used condition. Medium chestnut colored oven tempered cane. Three up node pattern in nicely pressed small nodes. Matte finish to the bamboo. I can't tell if the cane is impregnated or oil finished. Some line whip marks near the stripping guide could use some attention. The bright swiss style ferrules have a smooth fit. The rod is outfitted with chrome guides and a carbide stripper and is wrapped in white silk. Unfortunately, some of the wraps are showing a bit of blush. The ferrules are wrapped black with a brown edge. The keeper is on the wrap flat and is wrapped white (it turns transparent when varnished) and is edged in black and maroon. The inscription is 3 flats left and reads "Jennings and Moran" and 2 flats left "7' #4-5 No 8453". The grip is 5 1/2" long in a blunt cigar where the fattest part is 3/4 of the way to the front. The seat is a cork slide band with nickel silver ring and pocket cap. There is a small crunch mark in the cork from the ring. The rod comes with a finial style aluminum and cork ferrule plug, and in a grey cloth bag with stiffener. Packed in a leather rod tube with an aluminum insert and has a sewn-on leather plaque stamped "Tom Moran Rod Co". This is a rare offering.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
