An Aroner Spring Creek Special fly rod, 7'6" 3-piece 2-tip rod built for a #4 line. Mint, uncast condition. This rod appears to be almost untouched since it left the shop 15 years ago. The Special model is wrapped with olive main wraps, brown olive intermediates, and signature wraps that are a mixture of olive and brown olive. 3-up node pattern construction with all nodes carefully pressed with the technique that I learned originally from Sam Carlson. The tips are mirrored. Perfect spar varnish finish. Truncated swiss-style ferrules with a collar on the males - the collar features a turned down step, recessed knurl and two trim marks. Oxidized jet black finish on ferrules. High-speed steel guides and tip tops. No keeper. 5 3/8" slim (11 corks) cigar grip. Varnished bird's eye maple seat. Rear cork check, ring, and cap are all oxidized jet black as well. The hardware has a small die stamp which reads "Aroner, Maker". All sections are striaght and the ferrule fits are perfect, just as they originally left the shop. Highly polished aluminum tube and brass collar and top, with "Aroner, Maker" stamped into the brass fitting. The rod also has all-brass ferrule plugs included. Jonas and I were both marvelling over this rod when it came in - it's a true beauty.
