A nice Max Yerxa bamboo fly rod, 8'6", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #5 line. No serial number. It weighs 4.3 ounces. Used but very good condition with no casting cracks to the ferrule wraps. It has some grip soiling but no other issues. The action is medium, semi-parabolic. Light wheatstraw color cane with two opposed node pattern. Agate stripper and chrome snakes. The main wraps are a mustard with a black edge at the keeper only. The original owner's name is inked on the rod (this is a one owner rod) as well as “Yerxa Rod, Colusa, Ca.” Mounted with original “Super Z” ferrules, polished bright. The grip is 7" long with a hidden pocket for the up-lock screw lock. Full wells style. The wood spacer is varnished walnut. The aluminum up-lock screw lock utilizes the large lightbulb-style threads. The rod bag is a pale blue color and comes with an aluminum tube. Yerxa rods rarely come to market and this is a fine example of one.
