A nice Edward Vom Hofe 423 Restigouche salmon reel in 6/0 size, 4 1/4" diameter and set up for the traditional RHW. This is a second version Restigouche with the '79 patent dial adjuster and 7 detent arrowhead under the crank and the raised dome sliding click on the backplate. There is no serial number (which weren't added until 1908). Excellent overall condition with some minor cosmetic wear only. There is some tarnish on the nickel silver rims in a few places as well as on the foot, but otherwise the reel is very clean. The frame and pillars are in great shape, as are the sideplates and screws. The foot is full length and unmolested. The reel has the '83 patent date stamp on the oil cap. Mechanically the reel is nice and smooth with a strong drag. This is the original serpentine S-handle style reel and this is a very fine example. The reel comes in an original Vom Hofe leather case, though the facing on the lid has come off (it is tucked inside the case) and there is no strap to be found.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
