A Heddon DeLuxe #50 bamboo fly rod, 8'6", 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #6 line. The rod weighs 5.4 ounces. Medium action shaded toward the slower side. Fairly good overall condition and all full length. There are a few varnish chips here and there, the top guide on the mid has been replaced, and the rod is missing the keeper ring. The ferrules also need to be cleaned, both internally on the female and the male slides have spots of corrosion too. Still, the rod is in very good original shape. Dark temper cane with darker nodes. Gold colored main wraps with green edges. Perfection stripping guide and high arch snake guides. The step ferrules are painted black. The grip is 6" long and shaped to a heavy cigar. The seat is a downlocking screw-lock over a barrel of black plastic (Delrin? Tenite?) with a serrated nut and pocket cap of nickel silver. The wood spacer is varnished and looks like walnut. A large nickel silver tube (1 1/4" long) has a pocket cap soldered on with a black plastic cap. The rod bag is original and has the rich “old varnish” smell, and comes with an aluminum tube
