A John Bradford bamboo fly rod, 7'6", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #6 line. Serial number 1580. The rod weighs 4 ounces on my scale. Quick action while still retaining a bit of flex down to the cork grip. The rod appears to be mint, no signs of use. Medium wheatstraw color cane, over tempered with slightly darker nodes in two-opposed configuration. Very high quality varnish work. The main wraps are color-preserved medium brown with black edges. #10 SRMC carbide stripper and chrome snakes and tip-tops. The ferrules are swiss style and polished. A brass and cork ferrule plug keeps the female clean. The grip is 6 1/4" long shaped to a cigar profile The spacer is varnished birdseye maple and the hardware is a nickel silver ring and pocket cap. The pocket cap is stamped “J.A. Bradford Co. Maker” in a double cartouche. The rod packs into a tan color cloth bag and a brushed aluminum tube with brass fittings. The Bradford data sticker is 100% intact.
