Mike Clark Bamboo Fly Rod 7'6" 3/2 #4 [SALE PENDING]

A very nice Mike Clark bamboo fly rod, 7'6", 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 line. Serial #023. 4.4 ounces. The action is on the more deliberate end of medium. This rod appears to have been lawn cast or very slightly used at the most. One tip shows no brassing at all to the inner snake guides. Medium to light flamed cane with a left hand spiral. The tips are mirrored. The main wraps are color-preserved brown with yellow edges. The stripper is a large banded agate and the snakes are black nickel. The ferrules are Swiss-style and oxidized with a wee bit of brassing at the welt. The ferrules are fitted with ferrule plugs. The rod shafts are varnished and as straight as when they left the shop. The cork grip is 6 3/4" long, turned to a cigar shape and composed of 1/4" corks. The cap and ring reel seat sports a very dark wood I am unfamiliar with. The nickel silver cap and ring has a rope knurl and is attractively engraved. The butt cap sports a die reading “South Creek Ltd. Rodmaker, Lyons, Colorado.” The rod packs into a blue cloth bag and a leather tube with a brass name plate that features the name of the former owner.
