A Thomas & Thomas Traditionalist model bamboo fly rod, 8', 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #6 line. Serial #4149. The rod weighs 5.9 ounces on my scale (not the 4 1/2 ounces listed on the data sticker). Very powerful medium-fast 6 weight. Used but well cared for condition. It has some grip soiling, some scratches, and a small impression or two on the cedar seat. It has just the start of some cosmetic cracks at the ferrule wraps, and a small amount of wear to the inner snake guides. The ferrule fits are fine and the rod is still factory straight. Flamed cane with three-up node pattern and mirrored tips. The wraps are very light almost clear tan with brown edges on all wraps and an extra edge of black at the keeper, ferrules, and tip tops. The stripper is an SRMC carbide and the snake guides are black. The swiss-style ferrules have a collar and are oxidized. The 6" cork grip is styled to a western with a hidden pocket cap. The reel seat is nickel silver uplocking screw lock. The slide is independent of the nut and is stamped “Thomas & Thomas Makers.” The rod packs into a tan cloth bag and aluminum tube with brass fixtures.
