A nice EF Payne bamboo fly rod, 7'6", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for what feels like a #4 line. The rod weighs 3.4 ounces on my scale. It appears to be a model 100 based on the specs and the very pleasing medium action, and I have listed it as such. Excellent lightly used condition with some minor cosmetic wear (some cosmetic casting cracks at the ferrule wraps, some minor loss of oxidation to the hardware here and there, and light hand soiling to the grip). One tip has a very minor gentle sweep. The rod is in nice shape overall with no meaningful issues that I could find. Lovely medium wheatstraw cane color that Paynes are known for, with the nodes arranged in a semi random pattern. The vanish is in excellent shape. Wrapped in brown with yellow and purple tipping at the keeper, ferrules and tip tops, with brown tipped yellow for the main wraps. Carbide stripper. Oxidized step ferrules that seat nicely. The grip is 5 1/2" long and shaped to a medium cigar profile. The reel seat is an oxidized cap and ring over a flatted and varnished walnut spacer. The cap sports the later "Made For" A&F stamp. The rod packs into an tan cloth bag with an all aluminum tube which has a thin Payne sticker affixed near the top.
