For sale here is a R.K. Bolt bamboo rod - 7 1/2 feet for a 5 weight in the standard 2/2 format, labeled 3 1/4 oz. Serial number 0816. Excellent++ condition. Medium tempered honey-toned cane. Bronze wraps with canary yellow tipping. Red and yellow tipping at the winding check. The wraps are exceptional, double-wrapped at the base of the guide foot and wrapped all the way up the ferrule; an obvious Howells and Winston influence. Bright guides. Ring hook keeper. Sculpted nickel silver winding check. Reverse half wells grip is very lightly soiled and fits the hand very nicely. Bright aluminum up-locking Payne-style reel seat with a fine wood spacer. Engraved in the locking ring, "R.K. Bolt Maker". The ferrules are size 12/64 and fit nice and tight. The rod includes a fine brass ferrules plug with a knurled top. The action is on the medium side of medium-fast and capable of a good deal of delicacy, wonderful tippet protection, and a blast when playing fish. The actual rod weight is 3.30 oz. Bolt is the heir apparent to the Howells legacy, having purchased Gary’s workshop in its entirety and has been building rods in the Howells vernacular with extraordinary integrity. Includes original burgundy bag and aluminum tube with label and brass fittings.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
