An RK Bolt bamboo fly rod, 8'6", 2-piece, 2-tip and built for a #5 line. Serial #8601. The rod weighs 4 ounces. Mint, unfished condition with the plastic still on the grip. This rod was made from Howells blanks, which Robert offers from a very limited supply. Medium fast action. The rod sections are stained a chestnut color and done in a two-opposed node pattern. Brown main wraps with yellow edges and a band of red at the keeper. Carbide stripper and chrome snake guides. The ferrules are fully overwrapped and the female welt has a tiny “R.K. Bolt” stamp. The female sports a knurled brass and cork ferrule plug. Excellent varnish. The cork grip is 6" long and turned to a western profile with a hidden pocket cap for the uplock screwlock seat. The screwlock is made by Robert and is stamped “R.K. Bolt, Maker” with a nicely radiused end cap. The rod shaft is semi-hollow built and the screwlock barrel has a roller die stamp depicting a hollow-built rod section. The rod packs into a red cloth bag and an aluminum tube with the Robert's data sticker affixed to it.
