For sale here is a Todd Sands Large Trout fly reel. Serial no. ___. Left hand retrieve. Todd mentored for the past few years under the late Dr. Paul Hermann. Paul was extremely excited that he found an experienced machinist who had an interest and passion for fly fishing and for carrying on the historical tradition of crafting hand-made fly reels.
This Sands Large Trout reel utilizes the same double delrin brake shoe drag as Paul's reels did. The seven-setting adjustable drag is extremely strong at its heavier settings. The side plates are made of Delrin and the rings of highly polished 6061 grade aluminum.
3.20" diameter and 0.80" inside spool width. Best suited for 5/6/7 weight lines and backing. The reel weighs 8.95 oz.
Included is the classic red reel pouch sewn by Kathy Hermann.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
