For sale here is a stunning VR Design titanium fly reel - the Supermarine Spitfire 2/0 model. This is a limited edition - No. 1 of only 80 to be made. The reel is in mint unused condition. Right or left hand retrieve.
Vladimir Rachenko from Ukraine started designing and manufacturing fly reels and tools in the early nineties. His mechanical engineering experience, aviation engineering background and talent shines through with his latest titanium reel creations.
As Vlad explains, "This reel is dedicated to probably the best, most beautiful and legendary airplane ever made - Supermarine Spitfire! As an aviation engineer myself it was a real joy and at the same time a great responsbility to work on this reel project!"
The reel's features include:
- Fully machined from aerospace certified titanium bar stock
- Palmable rim design
- Plunger type clicker using two Japanese stainless steel bearings ensuring the sensitivity needed for the finest tippets
The reel diameter (frame edge to edge) is 2 7/8" with a spool width of 15/16". It weighs 5.1 oz. Capacity is DT2 + 55 yds 20# / WF3 + 60 yds 20#.
Included is a unique fully machined 6061 aerospace certified aluminum alloy reel box with two compartments, one for the reel and the other for fly storage.

Shipping Information
- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
