William Henry (Walter) Dingley is celebrated as one of the finest English reelmakers who ever graced a workbench, and Dingley fly reels have grown in popularity and appreciation over the years. Dingley was born in 1858 and worked for a number of fishing retailers (including the Hardy workshop in Alnwick from 1891-1911) before eventually making reels under his own name from 1919 until his death in 1946. Today, many collectors eagerly look for the "D" stamped inside the reels he crafted. If you are looking for a Dingley fly reel or have one to sell, please contact us.
