J.S. Sharpe of Aberdeen began building rods in 1920 and the company would continue in the bamboo business until the early 1980's. Though considered a "production shop" in most respects the company made some well-regarded two-handed rods, including the impregnated "Scottie" which was probably the firm's best-known model.
