An Orvis Battenkill Nymph bamboo fly rod, 8', 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 line. Serial #59941. The rod weighs 3.9 ounces. Slower action than your usual Orvis. It flexes a lot in the butt. Used condition with cosmetic casting cracks at the ferrule wraps. The grip has been cleaned with coarse sandpaper. This is one of the darker temper rods with a 3-up node pattern. The main wraps are brown with a carbide stripper and chrome snakes and tip tops. One tip has a half flat twist to the left so the top snake is off the flat. The other tip is fine. The step ferrules are oxidized with the female showing some brassing. The grip is a 6 1/2" long blunt cigar (as noted it has been coarsely sanded). The reel seat is a downlocking aluminum screw lock with a walnut spacer. The rod packs into a poplin bag and aluminum tube (there are a couple of sizable dents in it) which has the original data sticker is about 85% intact.
