An R.L. Winston bamboo fly rod, 8', 2-piece, 1-tip (made that way) and built for what feels to me like a #4 line. Serial #1307. The rod weighs 3.5 ounces on my scale. Full flexing action. It has some minor scratches and scuffing to the varnish on the butt. The grip is as clean as a whistle and I think the rod has been used very little. The cane is a dark wheat-straw color, oven tempered with slightly darker nodes in a three-up pattern. The main wraps are very light tan with maroon edges at the keeper, ferrule, and tip top. The stripper guide is carbide and the snakes are chrome along with the tip top. The grip is 6" and done to a generous full wells profile. The seat is an aluminum down lock screwlock with an aluminum nut and pocket cap. The threads are cut directly into the spacer and appear to be some kind of dark Pakka (artificial) wood. The red cloth bag has pockets for only one tip. The aluminum tube retains 100% of the Winston San Francisco data sticker.
