A superb Thomas and Thomas Beaverkill model bamboo fly rod, 8’, 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #5 line. 4.5 oz. Serial #5755. The action is just to the faster side of medium. Lightly used. There is wee bit of guide brassing, some cosmetic casting cracks at the ferrule wraps, and a hint of hand soiling to the grip. T&T pulled out all the stops on this rod. Not only is it fully engraved, but it has a light scheme of intermediate wraps. The cane is tiger stripe flamed with 3 up nodes. The tips are mirrored. Light tan (almost clear) main wraps with light brown edges and light brown intermediates. The ferrule wraps are dark brown with an extra black edge at the keeper, ferrules, and tip tops. The ferrules are the Swiss style with a collar on the male. The ferrules are fully engraved as well, and are also oxidized black. The stripping guide is a banded agate and the snake guides are black nickel. The owner’s name is inscribed on the rod. The grip is 6 1/2" long and styled to a medium cigar profile. The cap and ring seat is oxidized and engraved. The flatted and super varnished burl walnut seat may be one of the most spectacular I have ever seen. The butt cap is stamped “Thomas & Thomas, Makers”. The rod packs into a tan cloth bag with a stiffener. The black crackle painted tube is fully engraved on all the brass surfaces and has a T&T data sticker.
